The DecAid Project is no stranger to taking charge and partnering to solve a problem. We try to do all we can to help the people of La Gonave.
However, there are times that it’s important to just let God take the reins. One of these times happened on our most recent trip to Haiti. We flew out of Chicago, so instead of getting up in the wee hours of the morning, we stayed at a hotel. We went to the airport early and flew down to Haiti.
When we arrived, we realized that we were missing a very important bag with extraordinarily expensive ear, nose and throat surgical equipment. What was more terrifying was that it was borrowed expensive equipment. We were very worried.
After searching the airport and doing all we could, we could do no more. We handed it to God and released control. It turns out that we had left the bag on the street in Chicago! It was an absolute miracle it wasn’t taken or picked up. There are things that are out of our control, but when we turn things over to God, we get to see everyday miracles.
